Sunday Call Blast 03/01/2026

From Principal Maldonado:

Greetings Duval MYcroSchool families and Happy New Year!

There is information in the Google Classroom Virtual Orientation about the Student Handbook for 2526, posted on our website, the Acceptable Technology Use Policy, the Code of Conduct, the School Uniform, and school safety information. We will be stopping enrollment for this school year at the end of this week.

Parents and students need to ensure that students leave the school no later than 15 minutes after dismissal.  When students are not picked up, do not ride the bus, and are left at the school in an unsafe situation, the school must report it to DCF. We are small and do not have the manpower or budget to pay staff to stay late while students are waiting to be picked up.  Please make transportation arrangements in advance and plan for severe weather and traffic conditions. We appreciate your efforts!

Additionally, all communications will be sent via the school’s Band app.  For questions about the Band app, please email Mr. Booth, Mrs. Waters, or Mr. McDonald at stephen.booth@duvalmycroschool.organne.waters@duvalmycroschool.org, and evan.mcdonald@duvalmycroschool.org:

Teachers are the first point of contact for issues and concerns.  Ensure your student knows who their advisory teacher is.  This person is found on their schedule.  Teacher emails are listed on www.duvalmycroschool.org. The advisory teacher will support them throughout their educational journey, along with the other staff at Duval MYcroSchool.

Parents, please make sure your students are not coming to school with vapes and marijuana.  Bringing a marijuana vape to the school is now a felony according to Florida state statute.  I will not be allowing any snacks or unsealed drinks in the school due to students hiding contraband and illegal substances.  Students are now not allowed to wear facemasks unless they have a doctor’s note because some students are using them to hide vape smoke in the classrooms.  Please support us in keeping the school safe by reading the code of conduct posted on our website in the student handbook and by encouraging your student not to accept any food or drink from anyone except their reward snacks from the principal.  Additionally, adults dropping off students cannot drive onto the parking lot of the school under the influence of any substance, regardless of whether or not you have a medical marijuana card.  It becomes a felony once you drive onto the parking lot of a public school under the influence.

We do follow the district calendar, but due to testing and other academic functions, we have more early dismissal days.  Students will not be allowed in if they are more than fifteen minutes tardy for school.  This policy is in our student handbook on our website and in the Virtual Orientation classroom.

Directions to receive Edmentum progress reports for your student are posted on the school’s website.  The document is titled Edmentum Sensei for Courseware Families. If you registered using the directions on our website and don’t see a progress report, let us know, or check your junk mail.

As always, if you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us at 904-783-3611.
