Sunday Call Blast 08/10/2025

From Principal Maldonado:

Greetings Duval MYcroSchool families and welcome to the 2526 school year.  We hope you have an amazing school year with Duval MYcro!  For those of you that are new and returning students and families we welcome you!

There is information in the Orientation about the Student Handbook for 2526 posted on our website, Acceptable Technology Use Policy, Code of Conduct, School Uniform, and school safety information. Additionally, all communications will go on the school’s Band app.  If you need the QR code, please come into the school to receive the flyer.

Virtual orientation for every student will be scheduled as follows:

Students with last names beginning with A through M will have virtual orientation at 11am on Thursday August 7, 2025.  Students with last names beginning with N-Z will have virtual orientation at 11am on Friday August 8, 2024. If you try to log in early, the classroom is not ready yet.

For questions about virtual orientation, please email Mr. Booth, Mrs. Waters, or Mr. McDonald at stephen.booth@duvalmycroschool.org, anne.waters@duvalmycroschool.org, and evan.mcdonald@duvalmycroschool.org.

School uniform shirts have already gone on sale from 9am to 3pm daily. Students will not be able to start school on the first day unless they already have their uniform.  Uniform t-shirts and sweatshirts can be purchased with correct cash only in the front office with a limit of 3 shirts per student. We strongly suggest that you purchase at least 1 sweatshirt and multiple undershirts to wear underneath as the building temperature can vary.  The dress code is in the student handbook on our website at www.duvalmycroschool.org.

Pricing for school uniform shirts can also be found on our website.  Students have already been allowed to pick up their schedules and take their school ID pictures.  Students cannot start school on the first day if they have not had the ID picture taken.  Those students that have already had their ID picture taken will be issued their student ID and lanyard upon entry the first day of school.  Students need their schedules ahead of the first day of school so they know what shift they are in and what times to report to school.

The first day of school is August 11, 2025. Students without complete school uniform will NOT be admitted to class until someone can bring them school uniform.

Teachers are the first point of contact for issues and concerns.  Make sure your student knows who his or her advisory teacher is.  This person is found on their schedule.  Teacher emails are listed on www.duvalmycroschool.org. The advisory teacher will support them through their educational journey in addition to the other staff at Duval MYcroSchool.

Invites for the College Summit program will go out in a few weeks from your teachers and advisors.  Don’t miss the opportunity to earn yourself a light blue cord at graduation and get extra support for your postsecondary journey if you want to go to trade school, military, or college.

Please keep in mind that each student has a specific shift.  AM students go from 8:30am-1:34pm, and PM students attend at 9:46am-2:50pm.  Please make note of early dismissal days as we do follow the district calendar, but due to testing and other academic functions, we have more early dismissal days.  BOTH SHIFTS attend from 8:30am-1:34pm on early dismissal days.  Please see our school calendar posted on our website and social media.  Do not bring your scholar to any other shift other than the one on their schedule.  After the first day of school, students will not be allowed in if they are more than fifteen minutes tardy for school.  This policy is in our student handbook on our website and in the Virtual Orientation classroom.

Directions to receive Edmentum progress reports for your student are posted on the school’s website.  The document is titled Edmentum Sensei for Courseware Families.

Saturday, August 16, 2025 is CLT Test Day for select students.  Please see Ms. Green for details.

Friday, August 29, 2025 is a MYcroSchool Early Dismissal day and ALL students are expected to attend the AM shift.

Monday, September 1, 2025 there is No School in observance of Labor Day.

Finally, please make sure you have provided an email so you may receive progress reports in your inbox on Sunday evenings.  If you registered using the directions on our website, and don’t see a progress report, let us know or check your junk mail.

As always, if you have further questions, please contact us at 904-783-3611. See you soon and have a great school year!
